http://ima2010.hu/program/ 2010-04-26 Abstract acceptance started
Today we have started with the abstract acceptance notification process. Because of the high number of abstracts (~1680) and because of the longer submission and shorter evaluation periods, that process will take about one week.
All abstract rejections were communicated earlier.
Please wait for your personal abstract acceptance e-mail in the coming week. Please contact us for an earlier confirmation only if you really need it urgently.

5. ECONOMIC GEOLOGY/MINERALOGY
EG50G: Economic geology (metallic and non metallic ore deposits) (general session)
Convenors: Ferenc MOLNÁR, Harald DILL
EG51: Crustal fluids and gold
Convenors: Hartwig FRIMMEL, Georges BEAUDOIN, Pasi EILU
Keynote: Robert MORITZ, Invited: Ross LARGE, Poul EMSBO
Sponsored by: Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA)
Brief description of the session:
Variable types of gold deposits at different crustal levels: implications on gold transport and recycling by different crustal fluids.

EG52: Platinum Group Minerals in the New Millenium: a tribute to Alexandr Dimitrievich Genkin
Convenors: Andrew M. McDONALD, Aberra MOGESSIE, Oskar THALHAMMER
Keynote: Marian TREDOUX
Sponsored by: IMA Commission on Ore Mineralogy (IMA-COM)
Brief description of the session:
A session dedicated to expanding our current state of knowledge on a variety of topics relating to the crystal chemistry, synthesis, geochemical character, geological occurrence and beneficiation of platinum group minerals.

EG53: Geo-metallurgy and Process mineralogy
Sponsored by: IMA-CAM
Convenors: Dogan PAKTUNC, Johan de VILLIERS
Keynote: Robert SCHOUWSTRA
Brief description of the session:
A discussion of the application of mineralogy and mineralogical techniques to the exploration and exploitation of mineral resources. The session will be devoted to the use and integration of mineralogy and metallurgical evaluation techniques.

EG54: Mineral deposits in terrestrial volcanic-hydrothermal systems
Convenors: Jeffrey W. HEDENQUIST, Jaroslav LEXA, Ferenc MOLNÁR
Keynote: Lluis FONTBOTE, Invited: Peter KODERA
Sponsored by: Society of Economic Geologists (SEG)
Brief description of the session:
Interested professionals and students both from academy and industry are invited to the IMA 2010 Conference in Budapest, to discuss new results of their research and exploration on mineral deposits formed by hydrothermal systems related to terrestrial volcanism. The meeting is located in the heart of the Carpathian Volcanic Arc where exploitation of metallic and other mineral commodities have a history of thousands of years, with recent exploration continuing to discover economically important deposits.

EG55: Mineral deposits of Africa
Convenors: Jens GUTZMER, Uwe REIMOLD, Deshenthree CHETTY
Keynote: Judith KINNAIRD
Sponsored by: IMA 2014 Organising Committee
Brief description of the session:
Some of the largest mineral deposits in the world have been found in Africa. Mineral occurrences are present throughout the continent in all countries. The potential of Africa for the discovery and development of mineral resources is immense.
